In The City

They came from near,
They came from far;
To stretch their wings, to get their dues,
Being promised a treasure by news.

They have settled,
They are tangled;
They loitered in worldly pleasures,
Forgetting the untold treasures.

Out the corner,
Came a spider;
With fiery eyes and hungry pouch,
They succumbed to his clever touch.

Too deep they sank,
And all went blank;
They've realized, but it's too late,
Colourful dreams shattered by fate.
